Following the exhibition opening on Thursday 15th December at Navan Library we will adjourn to The Stonehouse, Navan around 9pm for finger foods and some cheery Christmas banter.

Runs from Tuesday 13th – Thursday 20th December
Limited space (approx 20 images) One medium sized image per person. List of participants has already begun.
Submissions: Tuesday 13th December – all images to be delivered to Navan library between 10.30am – 12pm
Removal of work on Thursday 22nd December.
Opening night: Thursday 15th December at 6.30pm. Library closes at 8.30pm sharp.

Meath County Council Arts Office in association with Solstice Arts Centre are delighted to announce Sarah Standing, as the 2011 winner of the’ Going Solo Award’. This award is intended to support recent graduates of art living in, or from Co. Meath, and to assist young and emerging artists in the development of their professional careers.
Opening night: Thursday 1st December at 7.30pm
Solstice Arts Centre, Railway Street, Navan, Co Meath
‘This body of work analyses and explores the architecture and concept of the house and home. It manifests from language, theory and signage attained to its form. The intention being to present the relationship we build with and within the architecture of the house. My practice exists of small to medium scale, painted installations. It combines elements of both sculpture and painting’.
Exhibition continues until Thursday 22nd December.
Solstice Gallery Opening Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm. Admission Free.

Call for expressions of interest!
We have recently initiated the Common Room Lunch Time Talks series. The aim of the series is to: create a platform for artists, curators and arts professionals to talk about their work; create opportunities for peer-to-peer networking and information sharing and to provide a relaxed setting in which Visual Artists Ireland can regularly meet our members and other visual arts professionals. The first of these talks was led by the artist Susanna Caprara who spoke about the Palazzo Rinaldi Artists’ Residency, a Member of Res Artis based in southern Italy.
