Denise Wheeler Having achieved a Certificate in Portfolio Preparation, a NCEA Diploma in Product Design (Ceramics), and a City and Guilds Certificate in Interior Design already, Denise is continuing her studies and is currently a final year student of Interior and Furniture Design at Dublin Institute of Technology, Mountjoy Square, Dublin. Her interest in mosaic started during her years in Limerick Institute of Techology (NCEA Diploma in Product Design, 1998) where she studied ceramics. After graduating from Limerick and without the use of a kiln, Denise started making mosaics in order to keep her interest in ceramics alive. Since then she has made and sold over 1200 individual mosaics, mostly on a commission basis. This collection is the first time she has made her own 3D bases, allowing the pieces to be free standing making them ideal for the garden or on the decking allowing colour to remain in the garden throughout the winter months.
