  Jos Menting

Documenting the world in an unadulterated way is the core of the photography of Jos Menting. He has lived in Holland, Belgium and Ireland and travelled extensively. Social photographers such as Henri Cartier Bresson and Eugene Smith form the basis of his inspiration and he shot only in black and white for many years. He has worked as a freelance feature/news photographer and teacher over the years, all the time taking photographs and exploring new subjects to consume his passion. He has published many documentary photo stories including in Panorama (Amsterdam), Omnibus magazine (Belfast), The Australian (Sydney).

Living in Ireland he began to delve into landscape photography, nature and more recently wildflowers. He seeks to show an appreciation for the treasure of the environment in which we live thereby highlighting its fragility and our role in its care.

A series of portraits from around the world and a selection of wildflowers are shown below. More photo’s can be seen at www.josmenting.com; contact Jos at mentingjos@yahoo.co.uk
