Maria Brady
Maria Brady came to Ireland in the late 1970’s from her native Sweden. While for many years her main artistic medium has been textiles she enjoys experimenting with mixed media and has over the last few years taken up photography, a medium which she often uses with thread and fabric to create her images. Maria also makes hand-made cards, incorporating her art.
Her native Sweden has always had an influence on Maria’s work and her use of colour and form reflects this. She takes her inspiration from nature and organic shapes, and the many ways people have used word and pictures to communicate through time.
Maria’s education includes a FETAC certificate in Art and Design in 2005 with Betty Newman McGuire and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from DIT, Dublin in 2008. She is also a member of Navan Camera Club.
