Roisin Daly
Following an Art Portfolio Course in Drogheda Roisin studied at West Wales School of the Arts where she achieved a BA (Hons) in Ceramics.
The process Roisin employs within her creative practice is hand built ceramics coupled with drawing. Her theme is primarily about the vessel/body exploring the fragility and the strength inherent in the human form. On the bottle and bowl forms Roisin uses dry textured glazes which are evocative of the source material.
There is a slower pace in making, a quietness of the repeated action when creating the bowls. After getting caught with the pull of ceramics Roisin hopes to get back into drawing and painting. Inspiration comes from several different sources ranging from bones/organic material to the paintings of Georgia O’Keefe/Kandinsky and the architecture of Gaudí.
