John Gray

Growing up in Dangan, Summerhill instilled in me a fondness for & a strong affinity to nature & the countryside of Meath. It is something which goes beyond words, a feeling I have carried with me while I traveled to Italy, where I lived & worked for a number of years, as well as to the other parts of the world I have been lucky enough to visit. My background is in Industrial design, function & form, but while I jump at the opportunity to experiment with new materials, photography or film I always feel the need to return to my first passion, painting in oils to combine fantasy & observation in an effort to create colorful canvases with new or unusual perspectives & peculiar or curious touches which I hope will draw the spectator into my art.
