NEWS UPDATE
7th March 2011
St Patrick's Day
Exhibition/Parade
There is exhibition
space for Meath Arts Group in the Civic Space, Kennedy Road, Navan from
2pm - 5pm on St Patrick's Day, 17th March. Members are welcome to come
along and hang their work from the railings along Preston Place and/or set
up a stall/display of art and craft works for exhibit and sale. Set up
time is from around 1.30pm - bring easels, table, plastic covering, a
small stool - whatever you think you'll need for the day. Feel free to
turn up on the day with your artworks.
The Group have been asked to
provide a walking float for the parade and an idea has been formulated. If
you'd like to take part in either or both of these events please call 085
7197359.
Monthly Competition
Thanks to all who entered our first monthly competition. The theme
for next month is 'Collage' so bring along your images on April 4th.
Winners of this month's competition were
1st Helene Malone; 2nd Anna Doggett and joint 3rd Caroline Jones and
Peter McKenna.
Plein Air Sessions
With the brighter days and warmer weather various group members are
itching to get out in the wild again. Plein Air sessions will resume in
April. Further details will be posted after the next meeting.
Website Update
A massive revamp of the entire website continues to take place in
order to make it more user-friendly, accessible and interactive. Because we will now have
better image gallery functions, which will allow for larger images of
artwork to be shown, each member is being asked to submit new photos of
their artworks. Please make sure each image is of a reasonable size but no
larger than 1.2MB per image. Images can be sent by email to
meathartsgroup@gmail.com
Images which are too small will not be displayed. This is an ideal time
to update your gallery with your latest images and information.

Other schemes are also available. This is their flat rate so whenever
you decide you want to get your insurance then just click on this link
http://www.odon.com and organize it from there. There is no need to
be part of the group to avail of this insurance scheme.
