Meeting Notes 8th
February 2010
Guest
Speaker Special
thanks to Meath County Council Assistant Arts Officer for speaking to the
group and answering their questions about the forthcoming grant
application deadlines (See below). Cathy imparted many value tips for
making your application the best you can: It is important to
sell yourself / your idea / your project etc. In order to do this your
application must be clear, concise but informative - use bullet points
and/or list relevant items. Avoid waffle. Use extra pages if required.
Explain what you are trying to do / develop / convey with your work.
Mention where this will take place, how it can be achieved, who will open
it (if relevant). If you have previously received a grant from
Meath County Council then include items with your application which show
that the Council has been properly acknowledged eg. flyers, Press
releases, newspaper cuttings etc. The deadline for this year's grant
applications is Friday,12th February at 5pm.

In
Between Gallery Meath
Arts Group suggested to Belinda Quirke, Director, Solstice Arts
Centre, that the Café wall area should be used as a gallery space for
local artists for a short run in between the larger shows upstairs in the
main gallery. This was agreed upon and January saw the first of these
small group exhibitions. Exhibiting were Metter Roche, Margaret Maher and
Theresa King. Feedback from the show has been very positive and we are now
looking for future exhibitors to submit their images and ideas for later
exhibits in this space. Small groups rather would be the preferred
exhibits so now is the time to speak with fellow group members and start
the ball rolling for a future show at Solstice. Send any
applications to info@meathartsgroup.com
